Discover Nature on 12 000 hectares - two hours from Johannesburg

Set against a backdrop of lush green mountainous vegetation, Mabula Game Lodge is set in one of South Africa's finest private game reserves.  Only two hours north of Johannesburg, this 12 000 hectare reserve is host to an abundance of animal- and bird-life, including the "BIG 5".

The reserve is home to over 20 species of African mammals such as Giraffe, Zebra, Eland, Kudu, Gemsbok, Nyala, Impala, Red Hartbeest, Wildebeest, Warthog and Bushpig.

Mabula is a bird watcher's paradise, with an excess of over 250 species of birds.  Species include the Secretary Bird, Martial Eagle, African Fish Eagle, Brown Snake Eagle, Ostrich, Plover, Pied Kingfisher, various ducks and geese and many more.

Zebula Country Club and Mabalingwe Nature Reserve are situated next to Mabula.  The famous 5 star golf course at Zebula was developed by well-known Peter Matkovich and was built to US PGA specifications.  It includes a practice facility with five target greens, bunkers and four practice greens.
